# Compliance Reports

Know where your department stands, before the deadline does.

Wondering whether your Members are on track to renew on time? **Compliance** shows your department's standing at a glance, points out who needs attention, and builds a report you can hand to your chief or an auditor. It's available to Officers and Admins.

## Open Compliance

Tap **Orgs** in the navigation bar, tap your **Org Card**, then tap the **Manage Icon** in the top right corner of the Org's profile, then tap **Compliance**.

## Department Standing

At the top, **Department Standing** counts your Members' Certs that are **Current**, **Expiring**, and **Expired**, along with the Certs that are **Missing** (the Members who don't yet hold a Cert Type your department tracks). Below the counts, you'll see the share of your department that's current, how many Members and Cert Types are included, and when the standing was last compiled.

The standing is compiled on a schedule. To bring it up to the minute, tap the **Refresh Icon** (**Update the standing now**).

## Needs Attention

**Needs Attention** lists the Members with Certs that have expired or are about to, with the Cert and its date. Tap a Member to see their Certs and follow up.

## By Cert Type

**By Cert Type** breaks the standing down for each Cert Type, with how many Members hold it and how many are current, expiring, expired, and missing. Tick **Org Types Only** to show only your department's [Custom Cert Types](/organizations/org-administration/custom-cert-types.md). Tap a Cert Type to see every Member's status for it.

## Build a Report

Under **Department Report**, tap **Build Report**, and CertLocker will create a PDF of your department's standing, ready to save, print, or share.

## Report Preferences

Admins can decide how far ahead CertLocker looks when it counts a Cert as expiring soon. From **Manage Org**, tap **Report Preferences** (or open it from Compliance). Set the **Expiring Window** amount and **Units**, for example **3 Months**, and your choice saves right away. To rebuild reports you've already made with the new window, tap **Apply to Existing Reports**. Tap **Done** when you're finished.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.firecal.app/organizations/org-administration/compliance-reports.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
