# Create an Org

Bring your department into CertLocker.

If your department isn't in CertLocker yet, you can create it, and you'll become its first Admin.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Search first.** Before creating an Org, check [Find & Join an Org](/organizations/find-and-join-an-org.md) to be sure your department isn't already here, so your colleagues don't end up on two separate rosters.
{% endhint %}

## Tap + and Create an Organization

Tap **Orgs** in the navigation bar, tap the **Floating Action Button (FAB)**, the red circle with a **+** at the bottom right, then tap **Create an organization**. (You can also tap **Create an org** from the **+** on your [Daily Briefing](/getting-started/daily-briefing.md).)

## Complete the Form

Fill in the **Organization name \*** (the only required field, marked with an asterisk), and if it goes by a shorter name, add a **Display name / abbreviation**. Tell people a little about it under **About**, then add the **Contact email**, **Contact phone**, and **Address**. If you have a logo, tap **Add logo** at the top to upload it.

## Tap Create

When you're finished, tap **Create**, and your new Org will be created with you as its Admin. Next, invite your Members (see [Manage Members](/organizations/org-administration/manage-members.md)) and take a look at everything else you can do under [Org Administration](/organizations/org-administration.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.firecal.app/organizations/create-an-org.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
