# Daily Briefing

There's no place like Home.

Your CertLocker Home screen is your **Daily briefing**, a quick look at everything that needs your attention today. Tap **Home** in the navigation bar any time to get back here.

## Getting Started

When you're new, a **Getting started** checklist sits at the top with four steps: **Add your first cert**, **Join or create your organization**, **Find your people**, and **Your other FireCal apps**. Tap any step to jump right to it. Steps check themselves off as you complete them, and the count beside the heading shows how far along you are.

When you no longer need it, tap **Dismiss**. If you'd like it back later, tap **More** in the navigation bar, then **Getting started**, and it will return to your Daily Briefing.

## My Certs

The **My certs** card shows how many Certs are in your Locker (**Total**), how many are **Expiring** soon, and how many have **Expired**, along with your **Average renewal progress** across all of them. Below that, **Next expiring** reminds you which Cert expires next and when. Tap it to open that Cert, tap **View all** to go to your Locker, or tap the **+** beside the heading to add a Cert.

## My Training

The **My Training** card counts your **Upcoming** training, what you've **Recently completed**, and your **Hours this year**. When you have a session coming up, **Next up** shows it, so you can open it with a tap. Tap **View all** to go to your Training screen, or the **+** beside the heading to log a training.

## Inbox & System Updates

Further down, the **Inbox** card shows your unread notifications about activity on your account, like approaching expirations, training invitations, and Org invites. When there's nothing new, you'll see **All caught up**. Below that, **System updates** shares news from the FireCal team about the app. See [Inbox](/more/inbox.md) and [News & Updates](/more/news-and-updates.md) for more.

## Add Something

Tap the **Floating Action Button (FAB)**, the red circle with a **+** at the bottom right, and you'll see four shortcuts: **Add a cert**, **Log training**, **Find an org**, and **Create an org**.

**Find an org** takes you to your **Orgs** screen, where you can search for your department (see [Find & Join an Org](/organizations/find-and-join-an-org.md)).

{% hint style="info" %}
**Zeros are normal for a new account.** If a card shows an error instead of numbers, check your connection and come back to the screen before assuming anything is missing.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.firecal.app/getting-started/daily-briefing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
